Requirements:Jave 1.6Minecraft Server filesStep 1|Setup Java (version 1.6) on your SystemFirst of all you need to check which version of Java you are running on. To find this out open Command Prompt and type
java –version
If the result tells you the version of Java is 1.6, you are good to go, skip to step 2.
Otherwise you must download and install Java from

Step 2| Download Minecraft Server FilesNow you need to to download the server file “Minecraft_server.rar” from

You will be given a compressed file, which you must
extract in a folder named“Minecraft Server”.You extract it by using WinRar or 7zip(google it).
Step 3| How to Set Up Minecraft ServerAfter you extracted it enter the folder and open "Minecraft_Server".Wait for the map to generate ,and your done.
Step 4| How to Configure Minecraft ServerConfigure your server by opening “server.properties” in notepad.
Change settings as you wish, if you want a private server change online-mode=true. Other changes depend on you, mine were:
level-name=TwistR1
hellworld=false
spawn-monsters=false
online-mode=false
verify-names=false
spawn-animals=true
max-players=20
server-ip=
pvp=false
server-port=25565
You can add usernames of the admins who will have ‘op’ (operator) in “admin.txt”.
An admin with op rights can use these commands:
/help or ? shows this message
/kick
removes a player from the server
/ban bans a player from the server
/pardon pardons a banned player so that they can connect again
/ban-ip bans an IP address from the server
/pardon-ip pardons a banned IP address so that they can connect again
/op turns a player into an op
/deop removes op status from a player
/tp moves one player to the same location as another player
/give [num] gives a player a resource
/tell sends a private message to a player
/stop gracefully stops the server
/save-all forces a server-wide level save
/save-off disables terrain saving (useful for backup scripts)
/save-on re-enables terrain saving
/list lists all currently connected players
/say broadcasts a message to all players
Minecraft Port Forwarding
If you are behind a router, you must forward this port TCP/UDP 25565.

Step 5| How to Connect to a Minecraft Server
To join your own server select “multiplayer” option in game client and type local IP address (like 192.168.1.2) and give port number 25565.
For other people connecting via internet, they must open this URL in their browsers

Note. YOUR IP here means your external IP address; you can check it from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], and server port is 25565 (default).
